Elections 2010: A Day Before | #juanvote

As of this moment, I have just finished my poll watchers' briefing at our parish for the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV). It can now be said that I am now quite prepared to observe election procedures tomorrow and to report anomalous activities. From 7AM - 6PM tomorrow, I will be a vanguard of the voters of Nabua, Camarines Sur.

However, I am quite troubled by the fact that there are things that are happening that may affect the elections immensely. News have reached me that a single PCOS machine isn't working here in our town. It is said that the said PCOS machine refuses to accept ballots even if the ballots were clean and deemed free from impurities of any kind. No word has yet reached me as to how Smartmatic and the COMELEC will resolve this issue. Another problem is that our town is said to be lacking in IT personnel to help in case the PCOS machine starts to malfunction. Again, the people at PPCRV have not yet confirmed if this issue has already been resolved.

The elections is just a day away and it seems that the COMELEC is still not prepared. News of incidents that are endangering the success of tomorrow's elections are coming from all over the Philippines. It would take a large amount of effort for this election to succeed and you can just sit down and watch the events unfold or you could take your part in safeguarding your vote and of others by reporting any anomalous activity to the Reklamotion hotline.

Good luck, Philippines.
